                            Technicraft Cooking - Term 1 Week 6

Today at technicraft, the year 8’s had to make low cost meal. Everyone had to choose to make nachos, tacos and meat patties. My partner Lasike and I chose to make meat patties, we first got an egg and beated it for 5 minutes, Lasike was peeling and grating onions.

After that, I grated some bread into breadcrumbs, then we put all the ingredients together in a mixing boil, we put salt and pepper on top and I mixed it.

After 5 minutes of mixing, Lasike put the mixture on a plate and we shaped into a cookie size. Then we put we put it into the microwave and we set it on high power for 7 minutes. 7 minutes later, the patties were ready to come out, I got it out of the microwave and I put it on a pot stand so it can cool down, and that was how we made delicious patties.

Technicraft Term 1 Week 2 Cooking

Today was the first day of technicraft in 2017, the year 8;s were doing cooking and the year 7s were doing science. In cooking class we made a diagram of a fridge and the things that are supposed to be inside of it, on the top of the fridge had milk and frozen drinks and on the bottom had raw vegetables, it was fun to make a diagram of a fridge. Next we had to choose something that we could make next week, I chose to make raspberry jam and my partner Eugene wanted to make raspberry jam too. After that we had to make a design of how the jar of the jam will look like, that was really fun to make, next we had to copy the recipe for raspberry jam, we also had to think of how long it will take to make it, I thought that it will take 10 - 15 minutes to make the jam. After that our teacher gave us an assessment that ask if we enjoyed making the design or not, I had fun making the design so I wrote yes. Unfortunately it was time to go back to school, I was really sad because I didn’t get to complete my assessment, but we had to go back.

The first day of cooking was fun, I hope we can make more diagrams next week and I hope my raspberry jam turns out to be a very yummy jam for the family.
