Wow, these schools are really good at making movies!


 We are learning to write a description.
 I know this when I write a brainstorm and a script to describe the 2015 Manaiakalani film festival.


Script:

On Wednesday, the whole school and I were going to the Manaiakalani Film Festival which was held in Hoyts cinema at Sylvia park. Each of the digital classes in the Manaiakalani schools have made three minute films to share with the cluster. We travelled there in two separate buses, it took us only about 15 minutes to reach Sylvia park. After that we sat down in the comfy, red seats. There were a lot of entertaining and funny movies. It was a really enjoyable day.

Go Carter chan, Go Carter chan!

Image result for carter chan dance performance centre At four pm on Friday, we went to the motel from my house. We needed to tell the builders where the lights needed to be placed. I went into our motel room and quickly got ready because my dance competition was at six pm. 

After I got ready, my mum and I went to pick up my dad from the train station. When we reached the train station, I saw my dad coming out from the train and coming towards us. I felt happy because my dad was also coming to the competition.

After that, we went to Auckland Boy's Grammar and that's the place where I was going to have my competition. When we reached Auckland Boy's Grammar, I was amazed because it was so big and all the building were white.

 After we went inside the school hall, a man told us that we needed to pay an entrance fee to go in the hall. My dad didn't have any money so he went to look for a dairy to get some cash out. It took him very long to get to the dairy because he walked instead of taking the car because he didn't want anyone to take our parking.

Within three hours hours, my dad came back with some money and I went down to the boy's dressing room, to wait until our dance starts.

While we were waiting, I played truth or dare with my dance group. It was fun because the game on the I pad called out our names and gives us a choice between truth or dare. I kept on getting dares.

Soon after, my dance teacher came and said that we need to get ready to go on the stage. When we went on stage, everyone clapped and called out our group's name which was called Carter chan .

During the dance, I was a bit nervous but I was having fun at the same time. In the last set of the dance, everyone was shouting and screaming so loud that we couldn't hear the music.

After the dance, the judge came and told us the results. She said that we came second and I went on stage to represent my dance group when they made the announcement. After that, we went home and it was nine o'clock. I had a very long sleep.

I enjoyed the competition and I hope that we can do much better in the next competition.
We are learning to understand and use language features correctly in our recount.
I know I can do this when I use appropriate time words and past tense in my recount.

Sing louder, sing louder!

 At six o'clock on Saturday night, my family and I got ready ready to go to my auntie's house for a birthday party. The birthday was for my auntie who was turning 38. We were also going to have a sleepover.

Image result for domino stars countdown joyAfter we were all ready, we hopped into my dad's car and went to the party. It took only twenty minutes to reach my auntie's house. When we reached my auntie's house, I saw a lot of balloons and a big poster that said Happy birthday.

Image result for domino stars countdown dugI also saw my cousins. I went to play with my cousins until was time to cut the cake. We traded some dominoes, I gave my cousin a domino that had a character on it called Dug from the movie UP. I got a character from Inside out and her name was Joy.

Within an hour, we cut the cake. The cake looked yummy because it had white icing and lots of coconuts on top of it. When we cut the cake, we sang the happy birthday song. I sang really loud but no one could hear me because everybody else was loud as well.

After that, we ate some ice cream. I had some ice cream that was mixed with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It tasted really good.

After we had the ice cream, everyone went home and my auntie and cousins went to set up our beds. Then I went to bed. When we hopped on the bed, my cousin said that she was hungry, but it was nearly eleven o'clock, so I said, "No" because everyone was asleep. Within ten minutes, I fell asleep and dreamt about a jelly kingdom and it was very bright and peaceful.

I enjoyed the sleepover at my cousin's house, I hope I could have another sleepover soon because it was so much fun.

We are learning to understand and use descriptive language in my recount.
I know I can do this when I use appropriate adjectives to describe.
